Baby Bump Update // 36 Weeks

May 30, 2017

HOW FAR ALONG: 36 weeks. Month 9 and now we are in the home stretch!

DUE DATE: June 27

SIZE OF BABY: Large Cantaloupe – 6 lbs 1 oz (as of 35 weeks, 3 days), 19-20 inches long

CRAVINGS: Popsicles. I want a sweet fix but on the colder side, so a popsicle is perfect. Or cold fruit like pineapple or strawberries.

SYMPTOMS: Intense lower back pain occasionally. Shooting pain down my left side, especially when I first stand up out of a chair or get off the couch/bed. I’ve been seeing the physical therapist the last few weeks and she’s been doing some needling to help with the pain. If you’ve never had needling done – it’s intense. She puts a small acupuncture needle in to stimulate trigger points in order to help release some of the pressure. Theoretically it should last longer than just a massage or other techniques, however it feels like you’ve just spent 3 hours on the Stair Master. I’m down for whatever will provide some relief at this point!

WEIGHT GAIN: 21 lbs total. Baby had a bit of a growth spurt this past month, which meant so did I!

BABY MOVEMENT: Baby feels like a swimmer — squirming every which way and doing flips in there. The good news is we are still head down though!

CHALLENGES LATELY:  My energy has been pretty low lately. I definitely get worn out faster than I used to, which is not great while running after a 2 year old! I’m ready to put my feet up by the time we get him settled into bed for the night!

NAME: We have officially picked a name! Woohoo!

GENDER: Nope. Nice try though. Still a secret.

Aww you look great! I had severe sciatic nerve pain with my 3rd. Sneezing had me in tears! I should have tried needling!

Oh I feel your pain! I’m pretty sure baby is sitting on a nerve and sometimes I get shooting pains up my back and down the legs. Pregnancy is definitely not for the faint of heart!

Thank you! I know the beached whale feeling for sure, but there’s no way you looked like it for the last 2 trimesters! Glowing!
