Family + Maternity Photos

June 26, 2017

A few weeks ago we met our amazing photographer for a family photo session on a warm spring evening when the lighting was perfect. We had to reschedule this shoot a few times because 2 weeks earlier it snowed 10” the day we were scheduled (spring in Colorado is STRANGE). Then Everett + I both got sick and had fever blisters. Needless to say, we were not exactly camera ready. But we were finally all healthy, the weather was perfect and I was 35 weeks pregnant, so we had to do it now or never!!

We adore Jen Oman. She’s the photographer we hired for Everett’s newborn photos and have gone back to her over + over. And once again, she did not disappoint! I really wanted the focus to be a family session instead of traditional maternity photos, but the mix of images she was able to capture is absolute perfection.

Everett wasn’t in the mood to cooperate that evening – typical 2-year old stuff (he would take a few photos and smile, then run away to explore) – so I didn’t have high hopes of getting any great family photos of the 3 of us. I totally underestimated her though because Jen worked her magic + managed to capture some of my all-time favorite photos! If you are in the Denver area — I HIGHLY recommend Jen. Her eye is incredible but her patience is unmatched!

Miracle. Worker.

I look at these photos and instantly become a puddle of tears. These two are my whole world. I don’t think any of us truly know what to expect when we add a new baby to our family, but I’m so excited for the adventure!
