A Little Bit of Life Lately

December 14, 2016

How is the world is it already almost the end of the year?! I have NO idea where the last few weeks and months have gone…probably just lost in the day-to-day demands of keeping up with a crazy energetic toddler, keeping up with the house and clean clothes, work, friends + family, and getting ready for the holidays! Phew. It’s exhausting just reliving in my head!

Here are some of the highlights:

My best friend, Sara, came to visit! She lives in D.C., so it’s really special when she comes to visit. It’s never long enough.

Checking out Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park on a beautiful fall day.
The Stanley Hotel in Estes Park.

Lots of Everett shenanigans…

It’s not often Everett falls asleep mid-activity, especially eating. But after a full morning of playing and gym class, he couldn’t even finish a cracker!

Thanksgiving morning…we watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade in pajamas

Then had dinner with family…

My sister, Hillary, …

Then finished off the day with bedtime stories and baby deedee.

We love when our nephew, Ben, comes over to hang out. Everett is obsessed with his older cousin and it melts my heart.

I’ve never met a child who loves to read more than Everett. The first thing he does when he wakes up is pick out books, then asks (::cough:: demands) you sit down to read with him. Little Blue Truck is one of his all-time favorites.

Tried to take a quick family photo before church, which is never quick with a toddler.

This “behind-the-scenes” just makes me laugh. We tried to get all 6 of the great-grandkids together to take a photo as a Christmas present for Jeff’s grandmother. Trying to wrangle all 6 of them was a daunting task, but somehow we ended up with a few keepers. This is one of the outtakes that cracks me up.

Everett wanted to check out the ducks instead of posing for photos. Can’t blame him!

Finally busted out all the Christmas books after Thanksgiving and found out that Everett is currently obsessed with all things Rudolph. He points to his nose and says “Nose. Nose. Nose.” allllllllll the time.

This child is pure joy.

Poor Cooper was playing outside and cracked a toenail. Ended up with the cone of shame for almost 2 weeks while his foot was heavily bandaged and healing. Never a dull moment in our house with 2 dogs and a toddler!

Hope everyone is having a wonderful fall and enjoying the holiday season!

Rachael
