Kids Grow Like Weeds

November 29, 2018

Having a girl opened up a whole new world when it came to baby clothes + accessories. Honestly, I was a little overwhelmed at first because there are soooooooo many choices.

So today, I wanted to talk to you about my process for picking out baby clothes. Since there are a million different places to buy baby clothing right now, and even more styles to choose from, I first tried to narrow down my personal style {aka Emmy’s style}. This helped pare down some choices, but then I also took into account practicality + comfort – because let’s be honest, if it is not comfy, you’ll quickly have a cranky baby on your hands!

No one has time for that.

Once I had really started to hone in on some of our favorite styles + pieces, then I just focused on budget.

I don’t know if you’ve heard, but kids grow like weeds. I swear my kids grow out of clothes faster than I can even buy them. With that kind of advance knowledge for my 2nd kiddo, I tried to buy a few staple items that would last longer {I don’t skimp when it comes to jammies or sleep sacks!} and focused on a some affordable, adorable outfits for each season.

I also try to look for outfit sets or individual pieces that can be mixed + matched easily, to get a little more mileage out of them. I tend to gravitate to a lot of the same colors + patterns naturally, but that makes putting outfits together a breeze.

I found this great little online boutique, Lavendersun, that offers just that! Super cute, affordable, outfits for little ones!

I collaborated with Lavendersun to try out their ordering process + put one of the outfits to the test. I loved this simple chambray top + white tutu skirt. This classic shirt is so easy to put on, even with a wiggly toddler. I may or may not be guilty of twinning it with her in matching chambray shirts. I just can’t help it – she’s so cute!

I also love how this clean, simple white skirt matches everything. It was a perfect staple for warm late summer + fall days. When the weather turned a bit cooler, I just added tights or leggings under the skirt + brown boots. Whole new outfit.

Go check out the latest outfits at Lavendersun.
